Why wouldn't you go for the 15w50 instead?

Half the price of M1 0W40 in Oz, and thrashes M1s VI of only 185, while still having an A3/B3 HTHS and Penrite's robust additive package made it interesting.

I'd use it, particularly in the Nissan with nearly 8L Oil changes.

(But I've got to get through the edge 5W30 A3/B4, Magnatec SP first, which is around Christmas 2015 by the looks of it).

But mixing half and half would give me 5W oil right on the cusp of 30 and 40...5W30 with a massive 180 VI, with just over 0.1% zinc...maybe for the Caprice

That would be a good price even here in NA.
And the 193 VI and 1130 ppm of phosphorus makes for one interesting oil; a competitor for M1 0W-40 perhaps?
At the very least if I lived in OZ I'd check it out.

Surprisingly many 40 grade and heavier oils do have quality control issues, in so much that their viscosity spec's don't match their claimed PDS spec's.
I would have a VOA done on it including KV40 and KV100 tests. I'd also contact Repco to get the HTHSV for this oil.

Bump...got 18L of A3/B4 for the Nissan, will be down to 10L by Christmas 2015...

But did have a lazy litre laying around, and given the discussion about mixing that's all the rage at present, and given that I've got some other penrite stuff around, made a 25% mix of 0W40 and their mineral 30

Behaves just like a 10W30 blend at -20C...

So you did get some Repco (Penrite) 0w40 synthetic. Any idea if it is Group 3 or Group 3/4. Not that I care (especially at that price) just curious about the Repco brand.

I have a soft spot for 10W30 semi-synthetics. Will you run it in the Holden?
