I thought I'd share this with you guys. My Dad is the general superintendent for a large construction firm in Minneapolis.

Here is a promotional video of his current construction project: a new tissue/organ transplant facility. The very end of the video always brings a tear to my eye, because I'm so grateful that my Dad has the opportunity this late in his career to build something that truly matters.

It reminds me of the story of two brick layers laying bricks at a Church. When asked what they were doing, one said "I'm laying bricks." The other said, "I'm building a Church!"

Your Father sees the big picture and you have every right and reason to be proud of him. May God bless him in every way

In case it's not clear in the video....that's my Dad, Buddy Hulbert, in the safety vest and hard hat.

He's taught me to live life to the fullest, seize the day, and keep dreaming.

He can't spend his money how he sees fit?

Bill Gates has more money than anyone would ever have but because he gives MILLIONS if not BILLIONS to charity he gets free pass to live in luxury.

A simple man who builds something like this can't have a nice watch?

I don't get it.

We are playing the jump to conclusion game today, I see. Perhaps he mentioned the Rolex because it is a famously expensive, nice timepiece and he enjoys them. Who cares

I care about the Rolex.

I have one too.

+1 for your dad.

You can and should be proud of your father.

I bet he's proud of you also.

Dad can't be native Minnesnowta as no Buddys who wear a Rolex have been ever been born up here. I'm a native long time donor type who threw the watch (probably $5 Chinese special)and pocket protector away when I retired. Probably the grumpy organ is the only good one anymore. -but hay, that is a nice kind of project to remember as a guy slides towards the end of a career!

Read that 6 times....Still confused.

One has to be extra careful not to be misunderstood, I know. It is an honor to be a part of such an initiative.

Rolex makes such pieces of art. Like them. Have 2 myself although I do not wear them. My daily watch is a 12 dollar Casio digital.

No harm, no foul fellas. As my Dad says....

"If I'm down on my luck, and need to eat, I can sell this watch and eat for a few months, with an escort and a security guard." LOL!!

LT4 Vette.....My dad mostly builds commercial and retail spaces: From office building to shopping malls.
