The Microguard has nearly 8000 miles on it. I had intended to run it to about 6000, but circumstances intervened. Other than a somewhat stiff nitrile ADBV, it looks pretty good.

Pleats are pretty evenly spaced, even at the seam.

This is off of my old 2001 GMC work van, and I feel pretty good about this filter.

Next is the Mobil 1. This is a tiny little filter from my wife's 2010 Nissan Sentra. Also nearly 8000 miles on this one. ADBV was pliable, as you would expect, and I thought everything looked great.

Here's a size comparison with the MGL51036 from my van. The MGL51036 crosses to the AC-Delco PF-52.

They both look great - thanks for the C&P

Is that a Fram bypass valve on the Mobil-1 filter ?

Both look very good. I don't think I have ever seen an MG/ Napa Gold ran at that interval before.

^^^ That would be the equivalent to a Napa Silver, not a Gold. I haven't seen one run that far either, looks great though.

Thanks for cutting and posting!

Yes it is, the same company makes them both.

Good looking filters.

You have to be pleased with that $4 and change Wix built O'Reilly Microgard.

That's possibly the best "value" oil filter out there.

I sure wouldn't ask Purolator, STP, or FRAM Orange to do 8,000 miles.

Thanks for taking the time to cut and post.

Are they both for the same Car / Engine?
Looks like you get much more Filter / Filter surface area with the microgaurd.

Also glad to see Microguard are no longer EXTRA GAURDs anymore.

Microgaurd did a very noble thing by having WIX . NAPA making there oil filters...

Im sure Honeywell / RANK was cheaper....

both filters look good, however I like the MICROGAURD... Just seesm like more filter.
