Hello all,

Just got my analysis back from my 210,00 mile daily-driven Ford 4.6 with Mobil 1 15/w50 @ 12,706 mile OCI. No oil was consumed or added and the filter (Motorcraft FL-820S) was not changed between service intervals.

The panel was fantastic with the TBN at 4.5 and all metals (except lead) very low.

A conversation with Blackstone suggested the high lead readings could be from a couple of heavy doses of Techron in the last few tankfuls.

Lead reading was 56ppm and copper was 12ppm after 12,706 highway miles on the 12,706 mile OCI.

Still trying to convert the report to the text format described...

210,00 miles and still pulling 145mph out of it!!!!

Thank you!!!

It's a factory black car, but it was painted 2014 Ferrari Nero Pastello Black, which has no other colors present in the formulation. The red stripe is also a single color toner, or pure red if you will, so it has a kind of 3D effect.

All products used in the refinish were Glasurit 55 Line Solventborne Basecoat/Clearcoat...

Thanks...I'm kind of a Mustang nut I guess...

My folks had a 65 Mustang Fastback 260 V8 with 3-speed floorshift. I started driving Mustangs for a Central California police department in 1993. Back then, the CHP would retire cars at 85,000 miles and local police departments could buy them for only $1.00 and many small agencies drove the retired cars well over 250,000 miles.

I spent many years in a 1990 SSP Mustang 302 V8 with 5-Speed.

My last Mustang was a 2002 GT which belonged to the city and I drove it for 11 years, logging over 300,000 miles until it's retirement in 2010.

I have toyed with the idea of painting the center sections of the wheels red and black, but to my eye there is something about the anthracite.

I'm running factory 'Bullitt' springs that lower the car 1" all the way around. It might look better lower, but they don't ride well when you drop them...

Here you can see the '3-D' effect of the pure red against pure black...

The bodywork is almost 100% metalwork with hardly any filler at all. In the small areas where filler was used, we employed Quantum Polyester/Epoxy.

Is 56ppm Pb and 12ppm Cu a concern?

Doktor:
Is the power density really up a bunch over stock to need a fity? One would hope a properly clearanced engine would not require anything other than an ACEA A3 10w30.

Though ford and I don't get along, I bought one of the first 2001 Bullitts that had the torq-thrust wheels and a different rear 1/4 window (along with a hy-po aluminum intake manifold and sub-frame connectors & braces, drop springs, etc.

I'm currently in Palm Springs CA where we see 120°F temperatures. I'm now running Lubri-Moly 10/w60 as an experiment. Oil pressure is immediate and no noise on cold start...

True...

Real Bullitt's had different quarter windows and mouldings, different rocker panel mouldings, rolled exhaust tips, lowering springs, Tokico struts/shocks, different intake plenums and severl other interior modifications.

I almost bought a Bullitt but it was rough. I almost bought a Cobra but the 4.6 4-Valve motors seem to have oil consumption issues.

This is a one owner car with no modifications...

I'm not really concerned about bearings, because copper is low and oil pressure at idle hot, even with 5/w30 is great. However, I am more interested in your opinion about Techron. Blackstone seems to think a heavy dose of Techron (which was used twice during this service interval) will put trace lead elements in the oil, but it is my understanding that Techron is lead free????

Thoughts???
