Thinking about adding a bold on exhaust. The kit comes with a sleeve and the connection is made about 1 foot from the muffler.

Wouldn't a silicone product be fine for sealing the sleeve?

Ya I saw the Permatex.

Wasn't sure if that was a paste that people seem to complain about.

For new pipe on new or clean solid pipe its fine. Some people try to repair holes and cracks with it and are sadly disappointed.

The orange is good for 500F. I use it mending cat backs on the BMWs. Works really well. Heat cycling doesnt bother it. Silica based stuff needs to be very clean and rigid.Water helps.
