You got room for longer and/or wider? I would never run a small wix - the base-end bypass assembly(very good idea) takes up too much room displacing media area (not so good)If You cant find a wix run a Delco non-ecore - will most likely give you ~30% more filter media. Your dimensions:

Maybe a 57502, but the bypass valve setting is a little lower.

From Baldwin, the B7449, a longer version of the B160 that they list for this application.

AC/Delco PF-63 would be the same diameter and thread with bypass of 12-15 PSI. Crosses to a Wix 57045.

Wix 57045 info:
Media: Paper
Height: 4.828
Outer Diameter Top: 2.939
Outer Diameter Bottom: Closed

Just wanted to make sure the WIX 57045
will work on a 5.3L Chevy Colorado.

The Amsoil website says this vehicle
takes a WIX 57060, but I like the idea
of a slightly longer filter.

So the WIX 57045 should work right?

I can see no reason why a PF 63 wouldn't work in any application calling for a PF 48 if space allows. FYI- the 57060 does not use the base end bypass assembly used on some Wix filters. It uses the standard spring loaded nub at the top of the cartridge.

Is that a good thing?

Check this link out if you want to look inside any of these.

Anybody put one of those filter magnets on the bottom of your filter?

They claim it's supposed to make any microscopic metals particles stick to the bottom of the filter to keep them out of the engine.

I guess this would be nano technology, but I have heard there are very small metal pieces so maybe there's something to it.
