My sister's corolla just got a full set of KYB strut plus, and a full set of MOOG sway bar end links. The car handles like a dream compared to before.
I will pay Firestone for lifetime wheel balance & tire rotation as I always buy their lifetime wheel alignment.
Tire Size: 185/65-R14
Question: I'm thinking of buying from Discount Tire Direct, how exactly do they honor warranty? Experience of A Discount Tire Direct Customer here on BITOG. I don't intend to buy the certificate of replacement as I already have a good tire as back up plus the it's cost is a deal breaker for me as I can buy Firestone's Primewell brand and be on my mary way.
Is it as simple as "97prizm" makes it seems for warranty claims? I will have all the records for proper tire rotation and wheel alignment, it will be performed 2-3k where as the oil change will be performed every 7.5k to 10k! to mess with people who like "cheap insurance" and need a "peace of mind" by wasting perfectly good oil in MOST cases but not all!
I have had Firestone's Primewell on 2 of my cars and I put on 40k between them in 1.5 years and they handle perfectly in all weather from me and my wife's experience and there is no road noise to be noticed (we have never had Brand name tires to know the difference I guess), the H rated tires in the size for the corolla have a 50k warranty which is not a bad deal for their cost and considering I have ALWAYS gotten more mileage then the warranty has claimed they will last in all MY cars.
I want to try Michelin with 90k or the Hankook tires that have a 100k warranty, which one should I chose? and why? It will be for my sister, she is your typical car driver, clueless about maintenance so I will be reminding her every 3k to rotate/balance/4 wheel alignment. So I guess I'm asking which is more forgiving as far as maintenance and weather handling goes?
Also when is the best time to buy tires (discount wise)? The discounttiredirect ebay coupon didn't work for me as the tire size and the specific tire I was looking for didn't have the availability for the tires.
