It's making me crazy from curiosity, what is the car shown in the photograph on page 30 of the current Road and Track magazine. Looks like something from the seventies. Has a sweet little spoiler, and a unique side marker light. from the size of the chrome bumpers it is pre-1973---anyone know?

???

I sort of suspected that, but back in the seventies I had a distinct anti-Japanese bias, and never really knew too much about Nissan Skylines. Thank you so much for solving my dilemma. I get obsessive about these things. My wife once gave me a print of a car in a small narrow street in Rome. I obsessed to find out what kind of car it was and finally figured out after clicking on thousands of google images that it was an Autobianchi bianchina. thanks again, so much, asandl

Most people didn't know what a Nissan Skyline was until Gran Turismo became popular.
Even then, many people only think of the R34 GT-R or current GT-R, and don't know anything about older models.

That's also because they were nothing to write home about, performance wise, until the R32 series.

Ah, that's why it reminds me so much of a Datsun 510. Very close cousin. And is that a first generation Celica in the background? Or is it some type of Nissan that didn't make it to the states as a Datsun?

That is a SWEET looking car!! I bet it's very valuable.

The vehicle shown in the corner of asand1's photo looks like a 67/68 Toyota Corona four door. Had an engine designed for a tractor. Traded a sorry 66 Dodge Dart that I special ordered for a 67 Corona right after they became available in Albuquerque. It was a nice car but the seats were a medieval torture device.

My brother had a 1970 Corolla "sprinter" with 12 inch tires and a two speed "Toyoglide" slushbox. Car hardly had so little torque that one day after an ice storm, it could not break the tires from the ice that had frozen them to the road. actually had decent styling however, compared to some Toyotas of that era.
