well brass is copper and zinc

but the zinc could be masked by whats in the oil.

i think a bushing has a bit of wear on it now.

Bike does have an an oil cooler. Through the years Guzzi has recommended everything from 5w40, 10w50, 20w50 to the current 10w60 for this engine. I don't have enough knowledge to understand why all the other metals seem quite low, the copper is high. Lead, chromium, nickel, silver was less <1 so I didn't even list it. I am assuming the sodium is leftover from the VR1 I was running.

What you're neglecting to mention is that Moto Guzzi actually issued a Technical Service Bulletin (010-2006) stipulating the usage of 10w-60 in the 1200.

Instead, you've decided on running TDT, which is 62% thinner than the specified product @ 100ºC.

Good luck.

I don't care for lighter oils in air-cooled bikes. Without a cooling system, thicker oil provides some measure of security for hotter days, slow traffic, etc. I like the Red Line 20w-50 that I'm using now, although my R-Bike has an oil cooler and can do okay with xw-40. Yours appears to have some trouble brewing, and I'm sure there's a reason the manufacturer is calling for this heavier oil.

HTHS Viscosities:

M1 TDT: 3.8
RL 20w-50: 6.1
RL 20w-60: 7.0

Run xw-60 and get another analysis done.

I would heed the warnings and switch to a xx-60 and re-analyze.
