I have 3 old Unit cranes, and they call for SAE 140 ep gear lube in some of the gear cases, have been using service pro 80-90W GL5, (as that is what is on hand for the other equipment) and I am concerned about the GL5 vs the bronze gears and bushings, how much of a concern is it? They only get used 20-50 hours a year, but the gear oils don't always get changed every year.
Second question is the swing clutches run in oil, they call for Unit No 939037 oil, does anyone have a cross reference for this, or what should I be using for this?
Third is the main gear case calls for Unit 929072 grease, have been using Amoco Rykotac ep grease, is this still available? (I am running out)

all modern gl-5 gear oil is buffered and inactivated

I would use a brand name 85w140 over 80w90 which is too thin. No idea if thats a good or best option however.

Didnt find anything about No 939037 oil or 929072 grease

Welcome to the forum.

Rand is correct on the 85w-140.

Is there any reason the "main gear case" can't hold oil? I'd also prefer 85w-140 here.

As for the swing clutch oil, universal tractor fluid would be appropriate.
