I'm trying to replace the fuel filter, one side has a green clip with 2 'ears' on it, press these ears and the line slides out easy. the other line from the fuel tank has a completely different clip, it's blue and the outer housing surrounds the 'clip'. I've tried the quick disconnect tool that slides into the clip, I've tried pressing the blue part that is outside the clip housing, and prying on the clip. No luck so far. Can anybody give me some advice on this??

So does that mean that there are five different evap/fuel line connections possibly used in this one application? Good grief. So much for commonality.

Why not? In the typical fuel line, there is only 3-4 pounds of force trying to push them apart. Plastic clips more than sufficiently retains the lines on millions of vehicles and has done so for for countless millions of miles.
