My 85 mustang gt 5.0l 5 speed , pretty much all stock, accept exhault and tires. 41k miles, the stock intake is crack and leaking, the stock carb is leaking all over the internal and external.

I need help find a stock style intake ( also need a set of intake gasket ) and a new carb for it, something no tune require or little tune require, easy start and dependable, my mustang mostly weekend drive. cruising... no power add. Any help would be appreciate .

yes I am plan on take all emission off, I need exactly part number for each part if possible ^^

i dont recommended that you remove all the emission stuff.you should be able to use the manifold and carb with the smog stuff. often the aftermarket carbs are not smog legal even though they may run just as clean. ck out edelbrocks site or a local hot rod shop for numbers and prices.in the old days the #1850 holley was a very common carb.

Hit some swap meets, chat up some vendors. Get a consensus first then return for your purchase.

How did the stock intake get cracked? Were heads resurfaced?

I am a Weiand fan - but ive only applied to chevy applications. Stick with a fat dual plane for mild street. Adding a 1/4"-1/2' polymer carb spacer would be beneficial.
Did the 85 have a roller cam at this point? - I don't recall. A slightly hotter cam and spring set might be nice at this point to wake 'er up

As for carbs - I would use a 600 holley over an edelebrock. Since mustang 302 are popular the tune for your app should be close out of the box.

the preview owner tap in an aftermarket temp guard , and I think he over tight the temp and it crack, it just a tiny coolant leak out, but I like replace with something similar and new.

btw last time I did the intake gasket, I keep mess up the 2 little seal from front and back of the block, some say just throw those little seal away and use grey RTV

Edelbrock Performer (a Performer 289 will work) and an 1850 Holley.

Could always do an easy injection setup:

I have a factory ford aluminum 4bbl intake in my garage. Its used, but i have never used it. I don't know what year it is. The code on it is : RF-E3ZE-9425-FD .

It might not be worth is as i have no idea what it costs to ship this.

Thanks, i've had it a while , i cannot remember exactly what it fit. I've had it a long time.

I used to own an 85 GT. It was one of the best running cars I have ever owned. Also got 20mpg on the freeway. Not bad for an engine that came from the factory with double roller timing chain, Roller cam, Factory headers and a factory 4bbl.

Some 1980s Ford engines used a carb, but controlled the spark timing electronically. One way to tell is to look at the emission control sticker under the hood. With electronically timed spark, the sticker would say something like "Disconnect SPOUT connector" and if timing was controlled by centrifugal and vacuum advance, typically it would call for disconnecting the vacuum hose at the distributor, then plugging the hose.

This is important, because sometimes replacing the computerized distributor with a vacuum advance distributor is needed when changing a feedback carb with a standard one.

Also, you will have a check engine light because smog devices are disconnected, so be ready to cover up the light, or remove the bulb.

This car has Ford's Duraspark system, which runs on its own little box and can be easily adapted to an MSD/Crane/Mallory box if one so chooses.

In 1986 the Mustang got EEC-IV (and SEFI) which came with ECM-controlled spark advance and included the lovely spout connector.

Now, I'm not intimately familiar with the anomaly car, which, IIRC, was the '85 Automatic, which had Ford's version of TBI on it, and whether it also had a SPOUT connector on it or not.
