Why has the forum search range limited to 1 year?

It used to be 10 years I think. I used the long range often to find specific UOA's for data analysis.

Any chance on getting it put back the way it was?

The search on BITOG used to be all you needed. Now the 1 year limitation renders the search nearly useless on nearly any subject, especially if you want results to compile a track record of any kind. I have no idea why they needed to change it.

I use Google and point it at BITOG. Much more effective.

Unfortunately, that renders a lot of very valuable information inaccessible.

Yes, searching here is limited. Used to it's potential, Google works wonders in replacement.

I find it better than the BITOG search result layout.

Not really.
You just have to try a number of different ranges.
The search function is limited to one year per search, not just the past year.

What, is Google down?

You can ask google to search a.specific site with.the keyword site: followed by the website. For example site:bobistheoilguy.com Mobil

While the search on the forum is limited, Googler is not

Agreed. 'Inaccessible' is not the correct word. It's fully accessible. It just takes more clicks to get to it.

I just search in Google like this for example:

"2004 VW Beetle UOA bitog"

And it brings it all up
