Going to see if my consumption goes up by using some stash oil. I was burning through VSP 5w30 in m first two OCI's before switching to PU. I'm wondering if the PU cleaned the rings up enough to slow the consumption.

Changed early due to sudden oil consumption and darkening. After 2,000 miles it burned about 2 quarts. It never had any consumption before. It's my sister's van and my uncle decided to add used oil to it as top-off as I was not around when they noticed it, so I changed it as to get the old black stuff out. The oil/filter only had about 2,500 miles on it. The last oil change had around 4,500 miles on it with no consumption and no considerable darkening. I'll be cutting open the oil filter anyways. I tried changing the PCV valve but the one O'Reilly gave me wouldn't fit properly.

The old one still looked good, however as I could see light through it and it still rattled properly.

Dealer did the previous oil change, used the wrong oil for the car when the OM clearly states 0W-20 is recommended and that's what's displayed on the oil cap. They don't care, they have 5W-20 in bulk and that's what you get. They also managed to lose the screw which secures the oil filter remote access door to the under tray. The car has the flat bottom aero package. And we wonder why people do things themselves. Oil was changed by the OLM which just came on a few hundred miles ago. The car does primarily stop and go N Va-Wash DC beltway driving with the occasional trip. 16 miles one way to work 5 days a week.
