Do you celebrate mileage milestones for your cars?

Yup. When it hits 200K miles, I sell it.

I usually hit the horn once when it hit 100K miles, and every 25K thereafter. At 200K miles my wife broke out the camera and took a picture of the odometer.

LOL!!

My friend's father took a pic when his Econoline's odometer reset...the pic shows 399999.9 miles. (It resets back to 300,000 instead of going to 400K.) It did it twice, but I don't think he got a pic the second time. (Yes, the van DOES have 500,000+ miles.)

When my first 1988 528e passed 300 K miles I splurged and bought it a new key cut from the VIN with a flash light in it. I got another 30 K of mostly trouble free driving before I retired it.

No. But i will celebrate internally when the Grand Caravan hits the 200k mark. Currently, it has 181k. At about 80k, i wanted to trade it. It is 9 years old now. With the mileage i am doing now, it will be 13 yrs old if it makes it to 200k. Vehicle was purchased new. Now, if it hits 300k, party time! Heck, i'll even do a cake at 250k!

When my old Taurus hit 200K, I filled it up with premium.
I still miss that car.

I take pictures of interesting milestones. 100K, 111111, 150k, 200k, etc.

I usually sell between 200k and 250k if everything is still in good condition and no mechanical issues. If it starts developing issues earlier I will sell it sooner.

Every 10,000 miles I pour a couple of shots of Everclear in the tank (and mine) and say cheers.

I took a pic of the Park Avenue on Thanksgiving Day 2012, when it achieved 100,000 miles. Now, of course, I can't find the pic.

The W126 Mercedes never got to 200K miles, as it was totalled about 1500 miles before that. And I bought it at 135K, so I never saw the 100K mark. I did go to the dealer and get the high mileage badge the Merc qualified for, the 250,000 km mark (155K miles), and fastened it on the grille.

So I guess I would celebrate or mark a mileage milestone with my car, if said milestone happens while I own the car.

To paraphrase the Firestone circular I received in the mail about a week ago:

"Odometers don't measure miles, they measure achievements."
