I'm already sold on the tire so let's not debate that. Should I get the stock size of 265 70 17 load range E, or the 255 75 17 load range C? They run pretty big so I don't think the 255 will look weird. If it works I could save a few $$$ and maybe have a batter ride on the 6ply vs 10ply. Has anyone out there seen this tire on a Silverado 1500?

255/75r17 is plenty wide and its taller than the 265/70r17
with 1.4% difference

I'd say your plan sounds good.

neither tire is a regular tire
(assuming you mean p-metric like the stock tires)

one is LT -load range C
and one is LT load range E

The 255/75r17 tire is plenty beefy without going load range E.

I'm leaning toward the 255. I agree the 10ply is over kill and the P metric has seemed marginal on a 6000# empty truck. I just wish I could see the 255 in person first.

.....now I'm not saying a beefier tire wouldn't last longer, that statements just a little optimistic, no?
