Fantastic...I just put a 20073 equvilant napa gold 1347 on my car yesterday as I had a couple on the shelf, stock is 14459. As it turns out though the length is a bit to long and I need a smidge shorter filter for the next change.

I could really use some 24458's but I have found none in my area.

Don't forget, you don't HAVE to use M20x1.5 filters

I've changed the filter threads in my '97 Soob so I can run 3/4x16 filters (Motorcraft FL400S and FL1A for example). I describe the very inexpensive (about $8 less than 2 years ago) part here http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001434#000000

PS, Purolator has discontinued the 24458.......

I would recommend double check before jumping on any oversized filter posted above. For instance actual L20290 Relief Valve PSI 13-19 and not 8-11.

LT4Vette, yes, but the FL-400 and it's equivalents are easier to find in my area AND Purolator doesn't make a PureOne version of it.

Besides, how many other Subarus in the world are running around w/ a "Ford" filter?
