3157 vs 3057

Hello All,

Today I realized that I had a burnt out turn signal bulb on my Buick. I replaced a "3057" with a "3157". What's the difference ? They appeared to be the same.

The parking light filament is a little brighter on a 3157. While I try to use the one the VIN calls for, I have used them interchangeably with no issues.

The 3057 has a slightly lower wattage "low" filament" compared with the 3157.

Thank You Both for sharing your knowledge. You confirmed what my eyes told me. I stopped at AAP on the way home and they said that the 3157 is what I needed.

Yup.

3057 = 24/1.5 candlepower

3157 = 32/3 candlepower
