It'll be available in all existing grades up to 5w30.

As long as you have enough to last until early 2018 then no need to buy any more.

Probably not enough to get me to 2018 on all vehicles. Yet.

Wow.

Yup! A similar sign is down the aisle for Rotella oil too.

My question is will current formulation of major synthetics like M1, PP etc need to change or will the meet the GF-6a spec already?

I'm sure most GF5 formulas will HAVE to change. The higher fuel econ requirements means that more friction modifiers must be used for the same viscosity grade to achieve GF6A targets.

As for the cleaning/dispersal additives: it may or may not change, but since top end brands like M1 & PP pride themselves on cleaning better than spec, I'm willing to bet they'll step up the game again.
