The biggest benefit I could see would be that an ACEA E7/E9 type HDEO would have a rather high TBN (despite being mid-SAPS) for extended drains. Of course, M1 0w-40 or an A5/B5 synthetic is nothing to sneeze at, either. If it were me, I'd be tempted to stick with shorter oil changes on a good conventional, but UOAs would tell the tale of the durability of the lubricants.
