Anybody ever have an Isuzu Impulse?

All that, plus every car came with a free yacht. Hey, you know Joe Isuzu wouldn't lie to us!

I can't recall the Starian/Conquest, though a friend of mine in the late '70s/early '80s had one of the Dodge Colts the article mentions.

These Starion/Conquest cars were later replaced by the Mitsubishi 3000 GT and Dodge Stealth RT(I think!)

Although, they could have been replaced by these:

Mistubishi Eclips
Eagle Talon
Chrysler/Plymouth Lazer

Pontiac was doing it around the same time range:

BC.

That is an early-1990's Sunbird dash. Buddy had a 1991 Sunbird 4-door as his first car, while I had a 1985 Buick Skyhawk. His car seemed miles ahead of mine, LOL!

Yes, I owned one. I think I purchased it in 1986. Kept it 4 years. Went to a 90 Maxima after that. The Impulse was a blue ext (nice blue I remember) with blue interior, 5 speed MT. I don't recall it being particularly fast, but it was fun. In 4 years, I only replaced a muffler. Loved the pods on the sides of the steering well. Those pods would also rotate a bit. Felt like a pilot! I don't see any here in Boise.

THe early 90's Impulse was very popular IN Saskatchewan when I was growing up. There was a dealership who also rented out the Impulse as well as the sportback model (fer more attractive IMHO than the common hatch design).

Oh boy these cars were fun, my older brother loved getting my dad to rent him one for several weekend stints of joyriding.

Too bad they rusted prematurely, and were didn't age very well.

I had never seen one until I went to see some ice racing. I had to ask what it was, as it sure looked Japanese, but I couldn't place it. With rwd and a turbo, it did quite well.

I liked the look of the Impulse too, and there were a few 90hp ones around, but no awd turbo ones.
