Jenson's awesome Q3 lap from 2012 that put him on pole. His McLaren was the fastest in all sessions and he won the race leading from pole. Watch the video and you will hear the rev limiter kick in about 4 times on the Kemmel straight. Hope McLaren gets back to those ways

Hat tip to A2 on S2Ki for the content.

The mid season break seemed extra long this year. The drama at Mercedes along with Red Bull appearing to find their groove has my anticipation full tilt.

Thanks for posting, gofast182.

Shame about Nico and Lewis. It was Lewis' turn but accidents happen. Unfortunately this one has huge implications.

I also liked hearing Matchett repeatedly call out F1 for rules that disincentivize the drivers from racing. Let them swap engines as needed during the first year of a formula change. Let them have more fuel so they can at least rev. to 15k RPM to make better noise and not have to slow down to conserve fuel. How about some tires that don't litter the track with rubber marbles that makes the drivers unwilling to pass.

Looking forward to next year, I think McLaren needs to keep investing in Magnussen. He's doing great work this year, is consistently faster than Button, and with some added experience will be able to begin making the most of strategy. Plus, realistically, how many years does Button have left even if they keep him around next year?

Button himself stated recently that he has, I believe, eight years left in the tank by his estimation. I'm a Button fan, but that might be a bit much.

watching the race on replay, i think Nico did it on purpose. You can see his hands steer at Lewis. There was a turn but...

he's too good not to think that would happen. wing on rear tire. Look at the beginning of his pass, its in a pretty impossible area unless you are clearly ahead of the inside car at turn in, he was not nearly enough ahead or carrying enough speed against Lewis, who he knows is a supreme late braker and hard to pass.
