Can you average that over an entire tank? It seems pretty reasonable that a Corvette should get decent fuel economy... it surely doesn't take that much horsepower to push an aerodynamically slippery car with a relatively low weight at 70 mph. But it still doesn't seem likely that you could get 37+ at that speed over 350 to 400 miles in a repeatable way. 29-32 I'd absolutely believe though.

1984 Camaro 700R4, 3.73 gears 2,400 rpm
1998 S10 4L60, 3.42 gears 2,100 rpm
2000 Sunfire THM125... I have no idea, gf drives this car.

I've never paid attention to what the RPMs are at 70 MPH, but I know off the top of my head for 75 MPH it's:

Mitsu: 3,100 rpm (4.56 rear axle ratio)
Grand Marquis: ~1,900 rpm (3.08 rear axle ratio)
Envoy: 2,200 rpm (3.73 rear axle ratio)

Not going to be much of a difference for 5 MPH.

About 2900 RPM in a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX 5-sp. 3.9 final drive ratio. Hovers right around where the turbo kicks in.

My 1995 Integra GS-R was more about 3350 RPM. Some felt that it could use a 6th gear.

The 330Ci Bimmer (perf. package, which has a different gear ratio than the regular 330ci AFAIK):
(NOTE: I think the ACTUAL speed is 2 MPH LESS than what the speedo shows - that's how it's calibrated; I forgot to compensate for that)

I dont have any pix, and I have no idea how to upload pix from my phone to here, but recent trip I went, 90mph at 2.1k RPM on my expedition.

12 Frontier 4.0 6 speed manual. 3.54 axle. Around 2050 RPM

95 Hardbody 3.0 5 speed manual. 3.70 axle around 2800 RPM

Hmmm...I think my (analog) tach reads high, indicating about 3K RPM @ 100 km/hr. The calculated RPM for my '09 Mazda5 comes out to 2755 RPM @ 100 km/hr, which translates to 3100 RPM @ 70 MPH.

Checked this with my ScanGauge at 100 km/hr, and it was right around 2750 RPM.

Therefore, the calculation was correct, so disregard 3300 RPM @ 70 MPH as I originally posted - 3100 RPM is correct.

Look at all the fuel I'll save now!

Are you using the car speedo for the speed? My GPS speed reads different than my car's speedo.
