CJ-4 oil for gas engine??

Will diesel oil that has the sticker on the bottle stating "API SERVICE CJ-4" be fine to use in a 26hp kohler engine?

Oil for your application should also have an API "S" rating, for use in spark ignition (gas) engines. This rating will appear as SJ, SL, SM, and/or SN. An API "C" rating is for compression ignition (Diesel) engines. If an oil is both API "S" and "C" rated in combination it will be fine in your Kohler. But if your oil is only API CJ-4 rated, then it is intended only for compression ignition engines.

Correct...as an example, rotella T straight 30 weight is only C rated whereas the rotella T 10w30 is both C and S
