Fact is that Russia is NO worse than the US when it comes to
its endless meddling in the affairs of other nations...
The difference is the fact that the US claims the moral high ground , or at least they try and communicate that to the rest of the world, although I think that time has long since come and gone.
The rest of the world sees my country for what it is now...just another corrupt empire looking to increase its assets around the globe, at the expense of others. Russia never claimed that moral high ground.
It makes the USA look like the ultimate hypocrite it has now become. That is a horrible burden to carry, and it makes
blow back all the more likely and frankly understandable.

It seems rather slavish of Western Europeans to barely raise a serious hackle as an airliner was (accidentally) shot down by f-wits because they're so dependent on the energy of Mother Russia and it's fairly well documented despotic "regime". Especially Western Europeans could become fairly independent within a matter a years by developing gas fields in The Netherlands (ironically) and Denmark..
