Or maybe they're liquidating old stock?

http://www.walmart.com/ip/16928047

Pretty sweet deal at $5/qt. I considered hoarding a bunch of it but instead only grabbed 12 qts.

I believe it is only available online and for site-to-store. If you find any in stores, it is probably on clearance for $2.50 per quart or $10 per 5 qt jug. There is none left in stores anywhere near me.

At my Walmart on Walden Ave in Cheektowaga they have Royal Purple in quarts at more than $5 a quart. I believe they are others like Castrol Edge.

Considering I only used this stuff when it was free after rebate 5qt jug, $5 a qt is high. And even without that consideration $5 a qt for this oil is really steep imo.

I know people are down on this because of TBN, but I just don't think TBN means what you think it means with regard to ester base oils (same for Redline, etc). You just cannot argue with the UOA results on this oil. I really like it since it seems to punch above its weight class if you believe the HTHS numbers. And if you look at the 100cSt numbers it's a thin 30wt so I feel ok using it in engines calling for 20wt oils as well, my wife's Honda for example - though typically I will blend it with something thinner.

I really wish this company would catch on so we can get more oil weights and so they cann start using up some of the the excess tallow from the beef industry. Not sure I can call that a 'sustainable' or 'renewable' resource, but [censored] it's better than dino oil.

Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 qt. In stores only $22.66

Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 qt. Online 25.17

Why in the world would you purchase that G-Oil for more money?

Esters, basically. Along with whatever environmental buzz words you want to insert here because of this stuff not being made from petroleum. And also insert whatever USA slogan because it's made here in 'Murrica!

I've got M1 AFE vs G-Oil UOA in my wife's Honda Fit, the G-oil blended with some random dino oil did better (if I recall correctly).

Pennzoil Platinum is ~ $7/qt when purchased in the 1qt containers. I know because unforunately I need 6QT for an oil change.
