I have been following the Purolator threads, and I can not recall seeing Classics mentioned as part of the media tearing issue.

I run Classics (and their Mann and Bosch derivatives) for normal 3K to 5K OCIs using Shell/QS/Pennzoil/M1 synthetic, depending on the application and driving conditions. Am I correct in assuming that I should not be concerned?

I am wondering if there is a relationship between Mann-Hummel taking 100% ownership of Purolator Filter (and Bosch's dropping out) and these quality issues?

^^^No correlation noted, Bosch just sold it's half to M&H. Others have noted previously, Bosch has divested itself of a number of operations recently. A google search confirms this.

US made Bosch filters continue to be made by Purolator.
