Another test. They state a winter test will be conducted.

Tire Rack, does state that shaving the tire is not exactly the same as a worn tire.

They have done this for quite some time though and the results should be comparable.

Anything beyond the limited data available (which seems to support the idea that the tires do what Michelin says they do) is guessing.
