Seriously, if you are using a drain pan that doesn't have a screen, you are doing it wrong.

Okay, I resurrected a thread that died 02/20/13. However..................
I got one of these as a free gift for buying an OTC Hub Grappler. I too thought it was gimmicky. I also have access to scads of free nitrile gloves, so I never thought I would need this. Furthermore, I have a screened drain pan, so I thought, no worries.
It has been over a month since I have taken possession of my free gift and I have done 5 oil changes now. I must say I am pleased with this tool and would give it a thumbs up. If you have a European car with lots of plastic shrouding underneath, even better yet. It does reduce messes. Though I still wear my nitrile gloves.
Oh well............. Just my 2 cents.

If I were working at a place like Jiffy Lube I'd want one of those.

I used to feel for the guys in the pits when I'd bring my GF's car in to the Texaco oil change place after driving it around in 100F Texas heat. And also making them drop the transmission pan to change the ATF.

Ok, I felt for them for about 15 seconds. I got over it pretty quick.
