Was hoping to convert/adapt my Elmscan5 tool, which uses the ELM327 chipset, to read MS CAN data from my '11 f150. All the wiring looks right and the connections are good- it even works fine when the switch is set to HS mode- but in MS CAN the tool can not connect to the vehicle. Did I get the pin out wrong? Is this even a useable mod on my vehicle?

Being an '11, there is MSCAN accessible things there

Check the FORScan website for a guide on this, and recheck your wiring I guess?

I'm gonna have to do this to my ELM327, but I just broke down and bought a OBDLink MX....... I cringed when I clicked order, but its speed and reliability was worth it.

Some of the ebay adapters aren't that great.

The first one I bought worked 3 times, then it decided to die.

But that and my new one work on my 2011 Focus.

I followed the instrctions on the forscan site. Waiting for the forums account to be validated to start a discussion. All the wiring is good though.
