what coolant for 05 ford expedition ?

I dont know when last time my coolant has been change, its still gold clear color, it does not have a great sweet smell like typical prestone green coolant, so I dont know its bad or not, I test it with the sucking type hose thing and it still show at recommend range, I was thinking just take off the radiator plug drain, drain it complete and fill it with 50/50 mix coolant, but I dont know which coolant I should use.
 
The 2005 Expedition would have came with gold from the factory.

Yellow-colored engine coolant meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B51-A1 (Motorcraft® Gold Antifreeze/Coolant)

You can find it online, but with the high shipping your probably better off stopping by the dealership and picking up a gallon or two.

Mine was previously gold. Original fluod came out around 92k miles, wasnt much color left (almost looked like water). The new stuff that went in was green, but that bottle claimed it met the Ford spec. Like I said, i haven't had any issues as of yet.
 
I have the same engine in 04 F150. I use the full strength Prestone plain old yellow bottle in a 60/40 distilled water mix. Easy to do in our engines. I do it every 2 years.
 
I would stick with the Premium Gold, aka Zerex G-05-it's rated 100K/10 years initial fill, and seems to last a long time (in my experience) in gasoline engine applications.

Zerex G-05 is available at NAPA, and it used to be available at Pep Boys as well but there are none near me so I haven't checked in a long time.

I use it all the time, coolant is coolant , as long you change every 4-5 year , you can run what ever brand you like, as long its correct type.
 
^ That's my theory... plus I like the fact that when I buy the Peak from Advance, I buy multiple bottles and use codes. Usually buy 3 and get one free. Not a bad deal!

No. The stench is from the old coolant reaching the end of its life. Sometimes regular green and Dexcool can develop the same stench.

New Motorcraft Gold, Zerex G-05, or MOPAR HOAT smell similar to new conventional green antifreeze.
