IVECO 18-1804 CLASSE TFE
MACK EO-M Plus
MAN M3277, MB APPROVAL 228.5,SCANIA LDF,VOLVO VDS3,MTU OIL TYPE3
API CF
ACEAE4/E7

DENSITY....15 *C....0,860
VISCOSITY @ 100 *C....11,4
V.I.......165
FLASH POINT......220 *C
TBN......16
POUR POIN.....-55 *C
FOAM @ 24*C .....0
ACIDITY NUMBER.......2.1

What do you guys think about these numbers? Thing is i have 30 liters of this oil and would like to use it.Been using this oil in my Ford and wife's Punto. It works fine in Ford but Punto is spec'd for 5w-40 so used it alot. Can i continue to use it in Ford?

Looks like it has a very rich additive package, so probably not suitable for any modern diesel engine with DPF. For all other applications it should be fine.

Thanks Quattro Pete.
Thing is this is new fuel economy 150kkm drain oil specific for new Iveco HD engines.I really didn't know what to read from this numbers.TBN looks very high and it has low pour point.
And this only API CF is a bit odd for a high end oil.Maybe bcs it isn't sold in NA?

I dunno.
This is a fully synthetic oil, but it carries no spark ignition rating.
This doesn't mean that the oil would be harmful, only that we have no information as to what gas engine specs it might meet.
It's intended for diesels and you don't have any.
This appears to be a recommended oil for various diesel applications in Europe.
Why not sell or trade it to someone who has an engine for which this oil's specs and certs are appropriate?

Pretty sure the 1.9 Multijet in his Fiat is a diesel engine. However, I'm also pretty sure Fiat calls for a different diesel spec than what this particular oil lists.

Not really odd. As I mentioned, it's just targeted for older diesels. They're allowed to have higher sulfated ash content than what modern diesel engines require.

We've got oils like this in NA, too.

This is HDO, this is why it doesn't carrie gas spec's.But it is 150kkm drain oil so it has to be good. And can't really sell Iveco specific oil to anyone in 5w30 grade when all older trucks are rated 10w40.

Heh... OK.

Do you know the details behind this IVECO 18-1804 CLASSE TFE specification? Maybe this new Iveco euro 6 engine does not have a DPF, and hence such heavily additized oil is OK for it.

I have no intention to use this oil in Multijet or wife's Punto_Only in old Escort. So summa summarum: this is a high ash, strong pack oil suitable for older petrol and diesel engines.

You're right.
It looks like a neat little car that Fiat should offer here as a competitor to the TDI VWs.

From what i can find only odd is drain interval of 150kkm.,and usual stuff like increased economy and so.

How did you happen to come by this oil?
It would have to be fairly costly anywhere in the EU.
Someone within a reasonable distance of you could surely use an oil meeting the certs this one carries.

Yes Selenia and Urania oils are very costly but are considered to be among the best. This oil was a gift from old friend of mine, some leftover let's say.And you are right,Fiat should bring some more serious cars to NA then 500.A second series Croma 200hp diesel would work great there.

They've been talking about bringing Alfa Romeo back to the States, but I've heard these talks for 10 years now and still nothing.

Urania is made by PETRONAS now I think. PETRONAS bought what was Fiat Lubrificanti which included all Fiat brand oils. It's a good oil, in the right application...

The TBN being that high compromises wear to a degree. VOLVO VDS3 which this oil meets, is a lower wear spec than VDS4. It might mean something in a semi, but most likely not a passenger vehicle.

Well Yugo is long gone but FIAT actually did bought old Zastava factory and built new modern one on the same spot. They
produce 500L sold in NA so in a way Yugo is back LOL. But really FIAT should bring something else beside 500 and 500L. They have top notch diesels and great 1750 turbo petrol.

Maybe they will bring the Yugo back too.Absolutely the worst vehicle ever sold in the US. Consumer Union said it was the worst car they ever tested and "a waste of natural resources." I believe it was a Fiat design licensed to Yugo.
