Royal Purple Anthony Dickinson - Royal Purple uses a blend of synthetic Group IV and V base oils for our motor oil base stock but we do not use Group III Hydro-cracked. I am not sure where you heard this.

Ester base oils do have a higher flash point, but the issue with the carbon on a direct injection is from poor fuel and/or the ethanol content in the fuel. Currently there is up to 10% is in all fuels you purchase at the pumps today. The washout that port injection has helps reduce this, but oil is not a cure. You will need to address the carbon and Royal Purple actually developed a product to do just that. It is called Max-Clean and it will be released some time this year or early next year. It has a high PEA detergency package, higher flash point, and lighter viscosity. It is geared towards direct injection but will work in gas, diesel, bio-diesel, supercharged, turbo, fuel injection, carburetor, 2-Stroke or 4-stroke applications.

Royal Purple can help protect your application and the amount of heat required to hurt the oil will be hurting other components before it hurts our product.

Anthony Dickinson also said this in the same post.
