Challenges: My laser head isn't exactly straight, and there's a very slight crown (high-centered ness) to my garage floor.

This does toe, but if you change struts or steering knuckles and are concerned about camber, getting the toe right will also get camber in close. You can also directly use the bubble level for camber.
 
I used to use a trammel bar that I knowcked up from timber, with a nut/bolt clamped to it for toe, and a level for caster.

Camber was a tricky level technique that while not trusting the absolutes, gave me enough repeatability that I was happy to "tune" it.

Those were the days pre laser level availability.
 
String method always works for me and less complicated! I've done alignments with string that were spot on once in the alignment shop!

Granted, it only really does Toe, but once toe is right, usually everything else falls in line if the wear parts are all good.
 
I'd rather use my HF laser that throws out a line, like this person did:
