Can someone define "repair"? I've only flown a few times, but looking at the exterior of the plane did not reveal anything I'd expect in a showroom. Nor on the Grumman trucks. I'm sure you can bang out and patch up the metal: but can you make it look factory fresh? I think that is the real question. How well can you make it look factory-fresh after a fender-bender? If it's a work vehicle usually one cares a lot less than if it's someone's pride and joy.
Seems like an easy way to deal with this issue is to somehow make all exterior surfaces easy to replace. Structures underneath don't have to look as pretty, just bang those back into shape and bolt on a factory fresh fender/hood/whatever.
