All numbers are minor variance from sample taken at 6000 miles found here.

Those were Blackstone's comments. They suggest a 11k OCI. Once the DEFY is done I might go back to the 0w40. I'm interested to see what Rotella 5w40 might do in this application.
 
Another 3000 miles and the TBN barely budged. Nice report...this engine loves the 0W-40. It will be interesting to see how the Defy does - I'm sure it was lower cost.

Rotella T6 has similar TBN retention of M1 0w40, so i would expect it to be similar if you drive the same miles or longer.
 
40wt seems to be the sweet spot with this engine. Kia actually specs high visc for high temps. I have used 20-40 was and it likes the heavy stuff. Probably go with whatever strong 40wt is most cost effective.
