Road trip consumption anomaly.

I just did a 1600 mile road trip, 800 miles each way.

On the way there, the Jeep consumed zero oil. Right smack dab on the full line.

On the way back, the Jeep consumed a half quart.

I don't know what would make the engine consume oil one way and not the other.

Where are you in your oci? I have seen several vehicles that burn nothing until the later part of the oci.

What were your speeds/driving habits each.way? Again from personal experience, driving over 70 burns more oil than taking it a bit slower in some vehicles.

Sounds like a measuring error more than anything else.

Whenever I drive out of state, my cars look back at me as we come back into Loozyana and its horrible roads, and murmur, "Boss? Do we have to go back?"
