99 Intrepid 3.2 idling very high

So I was doing what I thought was going to be a fairly normal valve cover gasket replacement on a friend's 99 Intrepid 3.2l. After reassembly, it now idles at around 3200 rpms. i took it back apart to check my work(figured i should be looking for a vacuum leak or something.) Everything looked normal to me and this isnt by any means my first rodeo working on cars. Anyone have an idea on what the problem might be?

Maybe the computer needs to be reset ? So it can forget the old trims etc?

Take it out for a spin and see how it drives. Maybe something obstructing the throttle body linkage. Otherwise it's just like permanent cruise control

spray carb cleaner around the intake and see if there is an rpm change.

I took it back apart for like the 17th time to check my work again. The intake plenum gasket was too flat to make a good seal anymore. Got a new one and presto!
