Ford recommends a 5W20 for this engine, but that seems a little thin for a turbo. Anyone have any experience, or see any downside to using M1 0W30 in the car? I have three five-quart jugs hanging around, which is why I ask.

Thanks.

I honestly dont think it would matter at all, However I dont think it will have any advantage over 5w20 unless you are going to take it to the race track.

or possibly tow through death valley.

To keep your warranty intact, stick with the 5w/20 Ford recommends. This engine was designed with 5w/20 in mind. The 2.0 EcoBoost specs 5w/30 as that is the oil for which it was designed.

Naaah. The car in my signature has been fed 5w20 all it's life. No chance of slowing down now. I'm sure Ford did their homework.
