I'm pleased to see wear metals continue to drop...although there isn't a lot of room to go lower. This drain interval saw a tough winter combined with a highway trip from Northern Michigan to Western Colorado and back.

This appears to be the drain interval that gets me the maximum mileage without taking TBN lower than I would like.

This engine is excellent. The MI-CO trip was 3795 miles, average fuel economy 18.0 mpg.

Seems like an excellent report all the way around unless I missed something. This report certainly is strong evidence that 5W-20 is not too thin so as to have durability concerns, at least insofar as Ford F150's are concerned. Thanks for posting.

At work we have a dozen 4.6 modular motors in Crown Vic Police Interceptors. We run them hard for 110k or more, always on 5W-20 oil. We do zero engine work on any of them. The "too thin" crowd is living in the past.

Great report once again.

I see the silicon is still dropping...are you still running the factory air filter or have you dropped in a new one somewhere along the way?

I installed a Fram at 36,000 miles per the maintenance schedule. I think that was way early but I think Ford knows what the truck needs.

great reports!

I like the Coyote motor(s) and all of the incredible development work that went into it's design---but I think to be called bulletproof, it'll need some more years of proven durability under it's belt.

I agree. While its doing great at this point, aluminum blocks are still not cast iron. Time will tell.

+1

Man, these Kendall GT-1 UOAs confirm my gut feeling for using it in our mower, and will now be my oil of choice in my focus when it comes time to change again.

ConocoPhillips continues to give us excellent lubricants.
Surprise, surprise.
