Smoking Honda Lawnmower

My HE-214 Honda lawnmower started to smoke. I purchased a gasket set and new rings.
But when I took apart the motor (GXV 120)I found that the bearing surface on the crank shaft and piston rod were slightly scored.
Since Honda charges way too much for new parts on older motors I seek your opinion on reusing the slightly scored parts.

MPO is unless you turn the crank or whatever its going to be short lived. I would try to find a new engine or used if at all possible maybe find a parts mower and use what you need out of it.

Don't know exactly what you mean by slightly but you can probably reassemble and use it like it is. Or you could google search for the parts and rebuild it with second hard or aftermarket parts.

put it back together as is. It ran fine "lightly scored" and it run okay until it is completely worn out.

Crocus-cloth the $%^&* outta is and reassemble with new bearings.
