Is there a way to temporarily remove the screen on Audi/Vw master cylinders. I am trying to bleed brakes on 2007 A6 & 2008 Jetta and cant seem to get the screens out. I want to ensure I dont run the master cylinder dry. With screen in the way difficult to see the level. I also usually remove some with turkey baster and cant do with the screens in place.

I don't know how the brake master cylinder screen works, but I removed the screen of my cars with a small flat blade screw driver or a small long nose pliers.

Yes, the screen can be removed but it take a bit of persuasion from a screwdriver.

There should also be a plastic plug screw on the top of the resivour that is used for just this purpose.

I just saw the screw, it was covered by plastic shield! Thanks.
