I did buy a tube of Lucas, Red "N" Tacky, at one of our local auto supply stores, Advance Auto to be exact.

For sure it looks & feels VERY similar, and of course a whole bunch less expensive. I'm using the Lucas product on one of my semi auto pistols with the Slide Glide on another. Can't tell the difference. It seems to work the same.

BTW the 2 pistols are the same make and the same in every way except one has a safety, the other does not.

Interesting, I'm going to try it. I have used mobil 1 grease, tetra grease, and currently LSA semi-fluid grease which all make for a smooth action, but are not tacky.

The thing I like about both they stay where you put it, doesn't migrate at all, henceforth isn't messy.

And of course the slickness and smoothness they give the action.
