Copper has settled nicely. Alminum and tin up very slightly. Potassium had a spike. Not sure what that's all about. Haven't noticed any loss of coolant.

Pennzoil Ultra has been discontinued and Ultra Platinum has not shown up on shelves in my area, so Redline 5W30 went in for the next OCI.

Car is flashed with Ford Racing tune and is pushing ~250hp/350lb-ft. Two-step colder plugs and K&N air filter. Bolt-ons: intake, FMIC, exhaust.

Good report.

The Racing Tune on your engine sheared the oil out of grade after 5,000 miles so keep this in mind with your OCI.

The oil did shear down some.

The Viscosity is usually around 9.5-9.7 at around 5,000 miles in an application that is known to shear oil... Yours averages at 8.5... With no Fuel Dilution!

Engine is rated for 5W30. I have been hesitant to exceed 5k due to the evidenced shearing.

We'll see how the Redline does over a 5k OCI since Pennzoil saw fit to take away Ultra and not stock Ultra Platinum where I live.

I just recently purchased a Focus ST2. I've been reading quite a bit about the shearing, and I am considering running Mobil 1 0w40. I've had good luck with that oil in the past. Does anyone know what oil is specified for the same engine that is also available in the other Ford models, like the Fusion, Escape, Explorer, Taraus. Is the 2.0L ecoboost speced for 5w20 in those applications?

The Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost is rated at 5w30 in Europe.

On the UK Mobil site they specifically mention only using 0w40 for top ups.

Thw 5w30 they suggest is good old Mobil Super 3000 X1 FE which is an A5/B5 oil but with low saps, 0.8.

I did a little research last night on the old internet, and it looks like regardless of the application (vehicle) the 2.0L EcoBoost has 5w30 as its specified oil. The 1.6L EcoBoost specifies 5w20 in all applications. What is the difference?? And really has does the oil shearing to a 5w20 cause the wear to increase, over a long drain interval?
