VW Passat Heated Seat Malfunction and Resolution

We experienced a malfunction to the seat heater element on the driver side of our Passat TDI. It burned a hole straight through.

We took it in for a seasonal tire swap and inspection today and the VW dealer said they would fix it.

We are the fourth owners of the car, it's a 2005 TDI GLS, with 314,000km (195,000 miles). Consider the age of the car I am pleased it is getting fixed as we are planning on selling in a couple of months.

This was a common recall when I worked at the VW dealership close to '06.

Yep, that's a well known issue in many of the Audi models also. AOA fixes them for free with no arguments whatsoever.
