What tool, to adapt H9 bulb to H11 socket?

Did the H11 to H9 on our truck. If the fixture is suitable for it, this is a very nice upgrade. Going from 1250 to 2100 lumens, it better be.

The best tool I found for the plug mod is an Xcelite mini cutter (170 series). Takes all of three seconds.

The base mod (if needed) takes a little longer, but a pair of small metal snips and a pair of needle noses takes about 30 seconds.

I like the filament centered, so do both mod steps.

FWIW, the $7-8 Philips bulbs are the easiest. Some Osrams are a difficult base cut.

I used a side cutters and a small file to dress it up.
You can also buy pigtail conversion off eBay or Amazon.

Just order a set of sockets for the H9 bulb. That is what I did and it is an easy fix.
