And it's for "fuel economy" now too.

I find it interesting that they choose to describe it as suitable for diesel (first) and petrol (second).

Around here 5w40 is the popular option for winter diesels that can normally run 15w40 in the summer.

I like the looks of the bottle and I notice it's mentioning pure plus technology in small print too.
 
Never saw a Shell Helix Ultra bottle of any grade anywhere in So Cal. Only saw Shell conventional oil in few retail stores, not WM.

Probably as the new Japanese (well 10 year old to now) diesels don't ask for the latest CI and CJ HDMO specs, and often expressly warn against them.

See lots of people in Supercheap struggling through the 15W-40s trying to find an oil for their "diesel" Japanese/Euro.

This is the non US equivalent of PU / PP 5w40 Euro.
