3 qts. added during OCI
KV100: 12.2
TBN: 2.69
Oxidation: 31
Nitration: 16

Polaris Comments: Lube oxidation may be increasing. Base number is slightly low. Lube mixing possible due to change in additive levels.

This was my winter OCI. No track days on this oil, just daily driver duty on a 240 mile round-trip commute, done 2-5 times a week depending on circumstances. Some cold starts down to -15F, and short trips in cold weather.

I don't believe the KV100 number. Virgin PU 5w30 is 10.3. I think I'll ask for a retest.

I now have GC in the car.

I'm assuming that the numbers in the last column (the third column) are the ones for the most recent oil change on PU. Assuming that's true, those numbers look a lot better than the ones using RL. Assuming driving conditions and change intervals were roughly similar, that's a huge difference and shows RL doing the worst of all. Very interesting. I had always thought RL was good oil. Are you running the same filters on these 3 changes? Thanks for posting.

Yes, reading the data points left to right, the oils were Redline, Joe Gibbs LS30, and PU.

The previous two samples had track days on them, so the usage was more severe.

Oil filters in chronological order were PureOne, Fram Ultra, and Bosch Premium.

No, the PU is on the right column - you can tell by the package.
Looks better than the RL though the RL may have done some scrubbing off of years of junk and maybe some track days on there

OP:

You have posted two UOAs just recently.

The other, for your track car, http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3355488/Redline_5w30,_1500_miles,_1985

I don't like what I'm seeing with Redline in either of these vehicles. Am I missing something?

A very logical observation. In the case of Redline in the Camaro, I had previous UOA's that showed low wear metals, but didn't put them in my post because I wanted to keep it simple.

Here are previous wear metals readings from other Redline UOA's:
Element: Mar 2012, Feb 2013, Jul 2013
Fe: 16, 29, 103
Al: 5, 8, 16
Cu: 22, 26, 34
Pb: 9, 4, 24
Sn: 0, 2, 5

The high metals readings from July 2013 I attribute to the car sitting outside my mechanic's shop for 3 months waiting for the transmission to be rebuilt. The shop took off the exhaust and didn't tape over the exhaust manifold outlets, which probably allowed a couple of cylinders to rust. Ever since I got the car back from the transmission rebuild, its oil consumption has been at least 40% higher. The wear metals have come back down, but it seems the oil consumption is permanently higher.
