Valve seal replacement and oil change?

I plan on doing a DIY valve seal replacement on my 6G74 Diamante.

Is there a proper sequence in doing it with an oil change or does it not matter?

There isn't any specific order AFAIK
But it would make sense to me that you drain the oil, change the seals, and install fresh oil and filter

I would drain the oil after the work. Anything that manages to drop down to the crankcase will be drained away. I do like doing a short OCI after something like that, but I tend to be a little old school in my young age.

valve stem seal replacement typically bears no correlation to any oil-related contamination (thus no need for an oil change afterwards).

that being said, however, if your car is due for an oil change, might as well change the oil after the valve stem seal replacement procedure.

The current oil (5W40 Castrol Edge Titanium) has been in there for under 5K miles.
By the time I get parts/do the job I suspect that I should have about 7K miles on the oil so might change at the same time.

I plan on running Shell Ultra 5W40 next time around
