Enhancing Blend with Extra Synthetic

I want to start using up some of the ecopower SM oil I've got. Would it be a bad idea to put a quart of Pennzoil ultra from the recent frn promo and walmart sale in a either a 6 or 7 qt sump? The ecopower is the oldest oil in my stash and I want to start getting it gone...

I plan on alternating blend and synthetic changes but I have so much synthetic I thought it may not be a bad idea to get a little added protection from the synthetic.

Your thoughts?

Not a bad idea but probably a waste of the Ultra.
Run the Ecopower as is.
If it's an API SM, it is of a recent enough spec to be fine by itself.
Use the Ecompower up and then switch to the Ultra.
